Beiraghi to make women flick ‘Popular’

Soheil Beiraghi has received permit to make new movie ‘Popular’.

After the award-winning flick ‘Cold Sweat’ and ‘Me’, Beiraghi will be making this new movie on women. Although, the film will have a woman as main character like Beiraghi’s aforementioned films, this time it will have a totally different story.

‘Me’ was the story of a woman named Azar who committed a series of crimes to make money. The character was brought to life by Leila Hatami.

‘Cold-Sweat’ starring Baran Kosari narrates the story of a woman and the captain of a football team whose limiting circumstances are against her wish of travelling abroad with her team to attend the Asian championship matches.

The film has won several nominations and awards from various international film festivals including the 29th Cinema and Human Rights Festival in France.

 Shooting for ‘Popular’ will kick off soon in autumn 2019.
